Strawberry Banana Bread

Banana bread has to be one of the simplest sweet-breads there is. Most recipe boxes have at least one variation of this classic. It is just that good. It has simple ingredients and is super easy to make. Strawberry banana bread combines not only two wonderful flavors but adds a splash of color to this family favorite dessert. It is definitely Oh My Gravy Good!
Just a Few Tips
Use overripe bananas for this. You will get more flavor the older the banana. Allow yourself to get excited that your bananas are getting those brown and black spots!
Don’t overmix when it comes to adding your wet ingredients into the dry. Banana bread is supposed to be a heavy loaf but we don’t want it to be chewy.
If you don’t have applesauce, increase the number of bananas you mash to equal the amount of applesauce needed.

There are several things you can add to this to suit your family’s taste. Nuts are a perfect complement to banana bread even with the berries added.
Speaking of berries, don’t be afraid to experiment with the types of berries used. Blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries (to name a few) will accent this loaf beautifully!

Working Your Banana Magic!
Let’s start off with preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and go ahead and grease your bread pan. I used butter to oil mine but cooking oil works great.
Now, we need to get our dry ingredients together. In a medium bowl, let’s put in the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Give this a good mix.
In a separate bowl, blend the applesauce and brown sugar. Add the beaten eggs, vanilla, mashed bananas, and strawberries.
Mix the wet ingredients into your dry ingredient bowl until you don’t see any flour.

Pour your batter into your greased bread pans. Bake your strawberry banana bread for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
