Brown Sugar Glazed Pork Chops

I have been raiding the kitchens of my kids lately and today is no exception. My daughter, Terri, put a twist to a recipe for brown sugar glazed pork chops. Her family loved how juicy and flavorful they were and your family will rave about them. Not to mention ask for more!
Handy Substitutions
The great thing about using simple recipes is that it is super easy to substitute ingredients to create your own masterpiece for the family table. It also helps when you are out of a specific item on the list. Here are some substitutions that she and I have both tried and loved!
- minced garlic: 2 T garlic powder
- soy sauce: 1:1 ratio of Worcestershire sauce
- chili powder: 1 teaspoon paprika
Add a kick to it with a 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne!
Simple Makes Amazing!
You can’t get much simpler than this quick main course. Brown sugar glazed pork chops look like you spent the afternoon prepping, not to mention a pretty penny.
Let’s start by mixing the glaze. Here you can see that my daughter took advantage of our substitutions list and used garlic powder instead of the minced garlic.

Spray or line a 9×13 baking dish and lay out your chops. We used boneless chops but the time and temp is the same for the bone-in variety. You can salt and pepper these if you wish but we left ours as is.
Just a tip: Dry the chops before putting them in the baking dish. It will make the glaze stick better.

Don’t get stingy when it comes to spreading the glaze around. A good dollop on each chop is the key. And don’t worry about the edges being naked. The sauce will spread nicely and still leave you with a thick glaze in the end.

Bake these for 25 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit. That will be about 162 Celsius for those of you across the pond. You won’t need to cover these during the baking process. They still turn out super juicy!

I do love creating our own recipes through experimentation but I believe Terri really outdid herself with this one. Let us know in the comments how this recipe did for your family and if you added your own special touches. I bet it will be oh my gravy good!
